10/17/2017 |<img src='http://www.ik4.es/upload/noticias/img/2017-10-17-12.53.jpg' data-link=""' /> Applying Big Data technology in the field of IT security, guaranteeing cybersecure architecture for the Internet of Things (IoT) and exploring the limits that cyber attacks can imply for the development of the driverless vehicle were among the themes addressed on 17 October at the conference Cybersecurity in industrial applications: current situation and trends, organised by the Basque technology alliance IK4.

The session, which was attended by 60 participants, was aimed at companies, universities and research centres interested in knowing the main challenges and risk of attack associated with the use of digital technologies in the industry.

Participating in the event, held at Gipuzkoa Science and Technology Park, were the Vice-councillor of Technology, Innovation and Competitiveness, Estíbaliz Hernáez, and the Director of Innovation of the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa, Garikoitz Agote, who presented the public initiatives adopted and proposed plans in the area of cybersecurity.

The technical presentations included that of Roland Trauter, expert in manager software integration at the automotive company Daimler Trucks, who explained the application of cybersecurity in driverless vehicle projects.

The event’s programme was rounded off with various talks given by researchers from the technology centres IK4-IKERLAN, CEIT-IK4 and VICOMTECH-IK4 regarding the need to advance in the application of cybersecurity technologies in areas such as embedded systems and data processing.
