What will industrial manufacture of the future be like?

04/26/2018 |<img src=' http://www.ik4.es/upload/noticias/img/fabricacion-industrial.jpg' data-link=""' /> Interconnected machines that offer real-time operating information, smart production lines and robotised workshops capable of independent operation: these are some of the images that come to mind on imagining the factories of the future.

Binary code marks the pace in production plants, and to debate on what industry will be like in the digital era, the seminar on “The What and How of Production in 2025” was held last 26 April”.

The session, organised by the magazine IMHE published by Izaro Manufacturing Technology, enjoyed the sponsorship of the IK4 Technological Alliance.

Held at the installations of the IK4-IDEKO technological centre in the Guipuzcoan town of Elgoibar, it dealt with topics such as introducing digital technology into industry, smart factories and zero-defect manufacturing.

The latest tendencies in high-performance machining, robotics-based automation, new additive manufacture techniques and advances in industrial methodology were also aired during the sessions.

Apart from the technical presentations given by experts from three IK4 centres (IDEKO, TEKNIKER and LORTEK), the programme included three practical live machine demonstrations. Specifically, robotic sand-mould machining tests, cryogenically-assisted milling assays and ultrasound machining demonstrations were conducted.
