In this context, the Menéndez Pelayo International University organised the encounter, “Good Practices in Academe-Industry Technology Transfer” last August to explore the different models for transferring R+D results to the private sector, getting acquainted with available tools, and identifying fields of improvement to connect laboratories and companies.

The encounter, which took place from 27 to 29 August in Santander, was attended by IK4 director general José Miguel Erdozain, who participated by sharing the Basque alliance’s transfer model with attendees.

Erdozain expounded on IK4 system keys to success based on the specialisation and excellence of the technological centres comprising it during a session entitled “The University and the Spanish Science, Technology and Innovation System: Pending Issues”, in which Emilio Tejedor Escobar, Iberdrola Environmental and Knowledge Manager, also participated.

Intended for technological and research system managers as well as companies and entrepreneurs, the sessions, which were held in the Cantabrian capital’s Palacio de la Magdalena, were sponsored by the Cantabrian Government Directorate General for Innovation, Technological Development and Industrial Entrepreneurship and Deusto Business School.
