Far-reaching technology for aircraft manufacture that pollutes less. IK4 R&D Alliance is participating alongside companies like Rolls-Royce, GKN, MTU, Turbomeca and ITP in Merlin European project, which is exploring the application of additive manufacturing to the aircraft industry. The use of laser-based additive manufacturing enables more efficient, less polluting and greater freedom of design manufacturing processes. Those in charge of the project, which has a budget of 7 million euros, will be presenting the results of their research in the Basque town of Ordizia on December 11.
