This guide details what VoLTE is on your Android phone or iPhone, if you need to disable the feature, and how to do it if you choose to do so.

What is VoLTE on your phone

VoLTE: Voice over LTE or Voice over LTE (4G) technology. Compared to 3G, the bandwidth for voice in LTE is 3 times greater, which allows higher quality audio transmission and the use of more advanced codecs, such as AMR-WB HD Voice.

There are other advantages of this technology: the phone does not have to change networks when making calls, which speeds up calls and guarantees uninterrupted data transmission.

If you didn't have a VoLTE icon on your phone before, but now you do, it means that the following conditions are met:

• Your phone supports VoLTE and it is activated in your mobile network settings.
• Your service provider already supports VoLTE calls.
• You are in a territory where 4G/LTE communication is available.

Today, more and more telecom operators are starting to support the technology in different regions of the Russian Federation and other countries and, judging by the fact that you see the corresponding icon on your phone – it is supported on yours too. .

Is there an additional charge for VoLTE?
