Table of Contents

Option 1: Windows 11

In Windows 11, the tools to manage audio streams are located directly in the System Settings interface. You need to open the corresponding menu and select from the drop-down list the device through which the sound will be output from the computer:

  1. Open the options window as you can. The easiest way to do this is through a system search. Click the corresponding icon on the taskbar and in the field that appears type «Параметры». Next, click on the app of the same name in the results.

  2. In the main configuration menu, in the tab "System"Ir a "Sound".by clicking on the element of the same name.

  3. In the parameter block "Departure". expand drop-down menu "Select device for audio output" and select the name of the TV connected to the computer.

  4. The sound should then go to the TV. To go back to the computer, you will have to follow the same steps, only in the last step you specify the speakers connected to the sound card as the device in use.

Option 2: Windows 10

In Windows 10, you can change the sound from your computer to your TV in a similar way: through the options menu. The only difference is the different visual appearance, so a separate instruction is provided:

  1. Expand the parameters window as you can. The easiest way to do this is through the menu "Start".. Open it and click on the gear button shown in the image below.

  2. From the main parameter menu, go to "System"by clicking the left mouse button on the element of the same name.

  3. Follow the tab "Sound". and in the main workspace in the dropdown list "Select output device" click the name of the TV connected to the computer.

Note to me. The audio volume can also be adjusted immediately here, using the corresponding slider.

  4. To restore the settings to the original state, follow the same steps, only in the last step, select from the list "Speakers"..

Option 3: Windows 8 / 7 / XP

Versions of the Microsoft operating system prior to version 8 do not have a separate menu with all the audio options, so it is not possible to take advantage of the instructions above. Here is a unique guide to help you switch sound from computer to TV in Windows 7 / XNUMX / XP.

  1. Open a window "Run".using the hotkey combination Ganar + R. Enter the command shown below in the field and press the button "OKAY".:

    mmsys.cpl

  2. In the window that appears "Sound". click on the tab "Reproduction".. In the list of all connected devices, right-click the TV name and from the context menu that appears, select "Use by default"..

Attention! If the list of audio playback devices does not include the one you want, check that the TV is properly connected to the computer. You can also open the list of offline computers and turn them on if necessary. To do this, right-click on an empty space and select the appropriate element.

  3. Save the changes made by pressing "Apply".and then close the window by clicking the button "OKAY"..

  4. You can then return the sound to the computer speakers in the same way: in the tab "Playback" tab. open the context menu of the destination drive and select the option "Use default" option..

Note to me. On a computer it is also possible to simultaneously output sound to the TV and speakers, only to perform this function you will have to install additional software from a third-party developer. If you wish, consult the thematic article on our website, which describes the procedure in detail.
