Clear cookies in Opera browser

Cookies are pieces of data that a website leaves on the user's browser. With its help, the web resource interacts with the user as far as possible, performs its authentication and controls the state of the session. Thanks to these files we do not have to enter passwords every time we connect to various services because they "remember" browsers. But there are situations where the user does not need the site to "remember" him, or the user does not want the resource owner to know where it came from. For these purposes, it is necessary to delete cookies. Let's find out how to delete cookies in Opera.

Clear browser tools

The easiest and fastest option to delete cookies in the Opera browser is to use its standard tools. Call the main menu of the program, by clicking the button in the upper left corner of the window, click on the item «Settings».

Then go to the "Security" section.

On the page that opens, look for the "Privacy" subsection. Click on the "Clear browsing history" button. For users with good memory, it is not necessary to do all the steps described above, just press the key combination Ctrl + Shift + Delete.

A window opens asking you to clear various browser settings. As we only need to delete cookies, we uncheck all the elements, leaving only the heading "Cookies and other site data".

In an additional window, you can select the period in which cookies will be deleted. If you want to remove them completely, leave the "from the beginning" option, which is the default, unchanged.

Once the settings have been made, click on the "Clear visit history" button.

Cookies will be removed from your browser.

Elimination of cookies with third-party utilities

You can also delete cookies in Opera by using third-party programs to clean your computer. We advise you to pay attention to one of the best applications of its kind: CCleaner.

Start the CCleaner utility. Uncheck all the options on the Windows tab.

Go to the "Applications" tab and, in the same way, uncheck the other settings, leaving only the "Cookies" value checked in the "Opera" section. Then click on the "Analyze" button.

After the scan is complete, you will be presented with a list of files ready to be deleted. To delete Opera cookies, all you have to do is click the "Delete" button.

Once the cleaning procedure is completed, all cookies will be removed from the browser.

The CCleaner algorithm described above exclusively removes Opera Cookie files. But, if you want to delete other system settings and temporary files as well, then check the corresponding boxes, or leave them as default.

As you can see, there are two main options for removing cookies from the Opera browser: using built-in tools and third-party utilities. The first option is more preferable if you only want to delete cookies, while the second is suitable for a complete cleaning of the system.
