How to delete a user in Windows 8

When multiple people use the same device, it is a good idea to create a different account for each user. In this way, you can share the information and limit access to it. Delete a Microsoft account

The profiles are of two types: local and linked to Microsoft. The second account cannot be completely deleted, because all the information about it is stored on the company's servers. Therefore, you can only delete that user from your PC or make it a normal local account.

Method 1: Delete a user

  1. First, you have to create a new local profile, which is the one with which you are going to replace your Microsoft account. To do this, go to "PC Configuration" (for example, use Search in Or menu Charms).

  2. Now expand the tab "Accounts"..

  3. Then you have to go to "Other accounts.". Here you will see all the accounts that use your device. Click the plus sign to add a new user. You will be asked to enter a name and password (optional).

  4. Click the profile you just created and click "Edit".. Here you have to change the account type from standard to Commercial.
  5. Now that you have something to replace your Microsoft account with, we can proceed with the removal. Please sign in again from the profile you created. You can do this from the lock screen: press the key combination Ctrl + Alt + Delete and click "Change user"..

Method 2: Unlink your profile from your Microsoft account

Now you just have to enter your current password and the name of the local account, which will replace your Microsoft account.

Delete a local user

Method 1: Uninstallation via "PC Settings"
