How to flip the screen of a computer or laptop

In some cases, the user may need to change the default orientation of the PC or laptop screen: if, for example, the monitor is in a vertical position, or if the laptop screen suddenly flips "on its own", it is relatively easy to do.

In this step-by-step tutorial on the ways to rotate (flip) the image on your screen both with the standard tools of Windows 11 or Windows 10 and with the utilities of the video card manufacturer.

Rotate your screen with Windows 11 and Windows 10 tools

Windows has built-in screen rotation tools, you can start with them. To rotate the screen in Windows 11/10 settings, just follow the steps below:

  1. Right-click on an empty area of the desktop and select "Display Settings".
  2. In the event that there are several monitors connected, select the one you want to change orientation: just click on the screen thumbnail with the corresponding number.
  3. Find the “Screen Orientation” item below.
  4. Select one of the available rotation options – Landscape, Portrait or the same options but “reversed”.

Done, the screen will flip according to the options you have set.

Note that flipping is only available for currently active screens. For example, if the laptop is connected to an external monitor and the built-in screen is off, you can't flip it over.
