How to set a password for a folder or app on an iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch

Most of the mobile users often have to store sensitive data on their devices. Naturally, such information must be reliably protected from prying eyes. For such purposes, it is very convenient to use two jailbreak tweaks from a Cydia author. Folder Passcode e Icon PasscodeAs the names suggest, they will help you password protect a specific folder or application.

How to put password to the applications and folders of iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch

The first was the complement Icon Passcode. It allows you to restrict access to games and programs on your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch.

  • After installing, an additional item appears in the standard setup menu.
  • The program will ask you to enter a four-digit numeric password.
  • You can then specify which of the applications installed on your iDevice will require it to be entered at startup.
  • The option that allows password protection of the application switcher (multitasking panel) is also interesting.

Folder Passcode is a logical continuation of the setting Icon Passcode. This plugin allows you to set a password for the folder. It has no further adjustments. It is enough to set a password for a folder once and then just add the necessary applications there. 

Both applications are available for free on Cydia.
