Remote management in Windows 8

There are times when it is necessary to connect to a computer that is far from the user. For example, you urgently need to download information from your home computer while you are at work. Specifically for these types of scenarios, Microsoft has made the Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP 8.0) available, a technology that allows you to remotely connect to your desktop device. Let's see how to use this function.

Let's note from the outset that you can only connect remotely from the same operating systems. So you cannot make a connection between Linux and Windows without installing special software and without much effort. However, let's see how easy it is to establish a connection between two Windows computers.

Warning.
There are some important points to review before doing anything:

  • Make sure the device is turned on and does not go into sleep mode during operation;
  • The device to which access is requested must have a password. Otherwise, the connection will not be made for security reasons;
  • Make sure both devices have the current version of network drivers. You can update the software on the official website of the device manufacturer or by using special software.
