Unblock a user in Skype

Some users resort to a radical solution when communicating on Skype: blocking accounts. This is done to prevent another user from sending private messages or making calls to the account that is being used. However, sometimes this action is done by mistake or an account needs to be unlocked. In this article, you will learn about two methods of doing this, each of which will be optimal in a specific situation.

How to unblock a user on Skype

As already mentioned, there are two ways to solve the problem. The first would be appropriate in cases where the blocking has been done literally now, but the contact has not yet disappeared from your friends list (which happens after all requests are updated by the program). The second method should be used for mass unlocking or in situations where the account has been locked for a long time and cannot be found in the history or contact list.

Method 1: Change the contacts menu

Let's start with the first option. You already know that you can use it when the ban has just been set by mistake or on purpose. The whole operation looks like this:

1. Go to tab "Contacts"..
2. Right click on the account of the blocked user. A red crossed-out circle will appear next to the user's avatar.
3. In the context menu that opens, select an option "Change contact.".
4. An additional window will open with a red legend at the bottom "Unblock contact".. Press it to release the lock.
5. Now you can see that the user appears correctly in the contacts, without the red circle crossed out, which means that the block has been removed successfully.

However, sometimes the user does not have time to remove the lock quickly, causing the account to disappear from the friends list and global search. Therefore, use the following instructions.

Method 2: Contact management menu

Again, after a long lockout, you can't find the user in the global search or friends list. These accounts simply disappear from the output. Because of this there is only one output, which looks like this:

1. In front of your name, click on the button in the form of three horizontal dots and go to the settings.
2. In this window, use the left panel to navigate to "Contacts"..
3. Expand section "Contacts blocked".
4. Here you can see absolutely all the banned accounts. Click the appropriate button next to a profile to unlock it.
5. If the account was already in your contact list, it will reappear there normally.

Occasionally, users also encounter reciprocal blocking of other accounts. In this case, even if the prohibition on your part is removed, the normality of the messages and calls is still not guaranteed. However, there are other methods to find out if you are blacklisted by certain profiles.
