In general, a normal idle CPU temperature can be considered to be 45-50°C; at medium load, this figure can be 55-65 °C, which is also within the normal range. The maximum temperature of the processor under high load ranges from 75-85 °C, but keep in mind that for CPUs from different manufacturers, this figure may be slightly different. For example, AMD processors, due to their architecture, run hotter, so the average temperature limit for them is 5-10°C lower than Intel processors.

For comparison, here are the average values ​​of the norm for different processors under moderate load.

  • Intel Celeron: 65-85°C;
  • Intel Core i3 and i5: 50-63°C;
  • Intel Core i7: 50-66°C;
  • AMD A10, Phenom X3 and X4: 50-60°C;
  • Ryzen 5 and 7: 65-78°C.

Video card temperature

Depending on the model, the operating temperature of most discrete graphics cards can range from 70°C to 95°C. An exception is high-power gaming graphics cards, which can operate in a temperature range of 70°C to 105°C. The normal temperatures of AMD and NVIDIA mobile graphics cards are

  • 40-50°C in sleep mode;
  • 75-85°C at half load;
  • 85-95°C at high load.

Hard drive/SSD temperature

The optimum temperature for hard drives is between 25 and 45 degrees Celsius. Outside of this range, values ​​up to 60°C are not critical, but rather undesirable for hard drives, as they cause faster wear on the drive mechanics. Unlike hard drives, SSDs can work even in sub-zero temperatures, with an average top temperature of 45°C and a maximum temperature of 60-70°C for M2 SSDs, for example.

RAM temperature

Unlike other components that get hot, RAM does not have temperature sensors, its heat can only be measured with an infrared thermometer or a special sensor attached to the memory die with thermal tape. If you can measure the temperature of the RAM, a value of 50-60°C can be considered normal.
